Look at how cheap these legendaries are, they aren't going to be this cheap forever?
Right?
Lets take a look at this. If you have been keeping an eye on the market, you've noticed these cards just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. Let's take a look at the value of Oshannus since he has had the greatest price drop.
In just the past few months, Oshannus has gone from a $60 card to a low of under $5, and continues to go lower and lower. This card, from a gameplay perspective is absolutely kickass and being able to pick up a MAX level copy for $50 is amazing. There are few better ways to spend your money to increase the strength of your deck, and I have already purchased several copies of these cards
But as an investment perspective.....
Why does this card keep going down? Well the print rate for this card is absolutely insane. Let's take a look.
All this data was pulled from Splintercards, and as of today there are currently 57,534 BCX of Oshannus with only about 28.8% of total cards printed. That means at completion of print, this card will have about 200K BCX in circulation, this is 20x higher than any other legendary reward cards that are on the market right now.
Another factor to consider is that since it is a legendary card, the amount that is required to max it out is only 11BCX, so there can be up to 18K max level copies of this card. As of right now, I do not believe that there are that many players that are in Diamond/Champion level, meaning that there are significantly more than are needed for gameplay. If we have another big boom in the playerbase this card will go up in value just like every card, but I believe there are better cards worth investing in if you are looking for a bigger return on card value.
These guys right here, are my recommendation for investment cards and I am going to try and convince you why. First of all, these cards also bring immense value to your deck in both gameplay and CP. If we do the same BCX breakdown for these cards you will see some key differences, that make a huge difference in long term value.
These cards currently have around 53K BCX printed, and they are 33% complete with their print, meaning they will have only 160K BCX printed by the end of print. On top of that, in order to get a max level copy of these cards, you need to have 38 BCX. This means there can only be about 4.2K max copies of these cards. The same players who are looking to get a max number of Oshannus are probably also looking to get MAX lvl gold common reward cards.
I may be completely off on this, but I know where I am looking to get some return on my cards. It is a big Supply difference, and I believe the demand is about the same, so to me it seems to make sense which is a better investment.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
